In between my classes this week I keep turning on my t.v. and computer to find out what is going on at Virginia Tech.  I don’t know anyone who was killed, but I can’t stop crying for them and for everyone else on campus.  You are supposed to feel safe at college.  You aren’t supposed to worry about these kinds of dangers.  It’s not fair and I don’t think we’ll ever understand it.

I will keep you in my heart and prayers and mourn with you.  I hope that your spirits may live and carry the memory of those who have died.

I am a Colorado resident and college student myself; even though I am attending much later in life.  I was living here when both the Columbine and Platte Canyon high school tragedies occurred and cannot begin to fathom how you must feel.

As with many others around the world, you are in my thoughts and prayers daily.  I wish each of you much peace as you grieve the loss of your friends and loved ones and work hard to move forward with each new day.

As with Columbine and Platte Canyon, we will never forget Virginia Tech.

To Staff, Students & Families,

I was absolutly disguested to hear of this tradegy on your shores. I send my heartfelt condolences to those who were lost, also to the families where it is going to be a hard slow road to recovery and forgiveness.

We need to remember that the condemmed mans family most likely had no idea of his intentions, so therefore please dont backlash at them, I am sure it is hard for you all but we also need to remember that however evil this act was his family are also greiving the loss of their son.

Our thoughts and hopes of a better world are with you.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

God Bless

I have wept and prayed for all of the young bright lives extinguished and cannot begin to comprehend what these parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, friends are going through right now.  I lost my brother when he was 28 and that was the worst thing I have ever gone through, but I have come out strong and I think he would be proud of what I have become.  Although not much has been said about the gunman’s family, please do not forget them in your thoughts and prayers - it is terrible to lose a child under any circumstances as my parents can attest, imagine if you can losing your son to suicide and having the knowledge that he killed 32 others beforehand. No I can’t imagine either.  I’m sure they have done nothing to deserve this but will forever torture themselves about what they could have and should have done as parents to stop this from ever happening. Their son was obviously suffering from mental illness and did a terrible thing for reasons we will never probably know, but he was still their son.  Remember them along with all the others grieving for loved ones ....

To The Virgina Tech Community,

I am at a loss for words over the tragedy that accured on your campus. I am a 43 yr. old female, and due to my mental disability, I was unable to attend a college or University. My heart really goes out to each of you. My best friend, just told me that two of her Sorority Sisters, each lost a child in the massacre. Because of it being so close to home, I really feel for you. Whomever gets this E mail, may give it to anyone who needs to talk, or just wants someone to listen to them, I am here for all of you. If I lived closer, I would be there with you to give my condolences.

May God keep all of you close to him during this trying time.

I am so sorry for the loss all of you are experiencing.  I cannot even comprehend the range of emotion that all are experiencing.  The days to come will be harder before they get better, but it is warming to see a campus unite and support each other.  May each one in his or her own way feel a sense of peace as they go on with their lives.  It is clear from what I have witnessed on TV, that the people of VA Tech are special and that Hokie Pride will prevail!
Blessings to all.
