Words can hardly express my sympathy for the family’s, the student’s and faculty. My heart go’s out to the Virginia Tech Family. A life long Miami Hurricane, today I am a part of the Hokie Nation. I share your loss, your disbelief, and grieve with you. As a Parent of a daughter that lives on a University campus I am concerned and afraid but know our American way life must go on. I encourage my daughter to stand up to senseless, deranged acts of mad men whether they act alone or represent some terrorist group. God Bless us all, and God Speed the Hokie Nation to recovery.

I am a graduate of WVU and fondly remember all the great football games with Virginia Tech.  I am deeply saddened by this horrible event.  My daughter will be attending college in the fall and this really hit home with me.  My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Virginia Tech family.  I hope it helps to know that people from around the U.S. and the world are thinking of you and praying for you.

Virginia Tech

Our family would like to send our condolences to all the victims and their families. We would also like to send our prayers to the students who currently attend Virginia Tech, Professors and their families. We do not have any relations with any of the victims or anyone who is currently a student, however, we feel as though you are all family. It is in times like this where we all pray for each other. Watching the images of students running out of buildings, the release of victim’s names and parent reactions, so reminiscent of Columbine, I cried though I had lost someone I loved. I can’t imagine the horror of what happened.
But then I see a vigil with thousands strong and already, you are beginning to bounce back and go on. For a day, we were all a part of Virginia Tech. It’s people like you who make this country what it is. We acknowledge tragedies in our country, not ignore them, and honor those who were taken away and work hard for them and in their memory.
May all of you be blessed. May all of you succeed. May all of you rise and continue to make this country a stronger one. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. GO HOKIES!!!
We love you Virginia Tech.

As a proud korean-American, who loved every moments of my years at Tech, my heart aches for the lost and the families.  As a proud Hokie, who loves to visit B-burg, I can’t hold back my tears for the Hokies at the campus. As a proud future Hokie parent, I look forward to share this day with my son and daughter that because of this senseless act, Hokies have become more united then ever.  I’ll always remember this day and I’ll never forget.

Dear Virginia Tech students & faculty,
My family and I will continue to keep you in our prayers. We are familiar with the grief the Virginia Tech family is attempting to cope with, because we had to deal with a similar, senseless act of violence in our community. We will never make any sense of it, but we must continue to love and support each other so evil will never prevail.

Life’s Seasons

Wonder when
Wonder how
It all begins
It all ends

Do we know at all
The seasons of life
When it begins
When it will end

Does it begin at birth
And end at Death
Or does it begin at death
And end at birth

Does it ever really end
Does it ever really begin
So many questions
So many unanswered

Death as we have seen
At our home at VT
Ended a season of life
A season without warning

Every season of life
Will be celebrated
With wonderful memories
Of those we lost today

They are lost only physically
Never lost in Memories
Never lost in our hearts
Never out our family

VT is a family
Like no other
No one can break us apart
No one can separate us forever

We stand together
From now until forever
Heart in Heart
Spirit in Spirit

We will never forget
Those we lost today
Our family members forever
In our lives they live on

To the VT community:  I write this from my office at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  Although I have never visited your campus, I suspect that Virginia Polytechnic and California Polytechnic are very similar.  We enjoy beautiful campuses in rural areas, students who are dedicated to their education, true and life-long loyalty to our schools, and a close bond between our students, our faculty and our community.  So as the horrible events of Monday began to unfold, although 3000 miles away from us, it was easy for us to feel that we were also under attack.  And to feel so impotent because there was nothing we could do to help.  We cannot begin to presume that we know the depth of your pain but please know that we share your grief and our thoughts are with you.  Our campus held a memorial for you today.  Many years ago, President John Kennedy went to Germany and expressed our nation’s solidarity with the people of Berlin when he said, “Ich bin ein Berliner.” Today I proudly say, “I am a Hokie”.  We are a nation of Hokies and we stand with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  This is every teachers’/professors’/parents’ nightmare.  I pray that God gives you the strength and courage to continue your educational mission through the coming months.  Find comfort in one another as a faculty, brother/sisterhood, and community.

I believe every student, professor all across the world, regardless of any university that one is attending/attended has felt the pain this day has brought when lives so promising & bright were taken away.I would not say that they “died”,these 32 bright lights just moved on to another better realm of life because God has a better plan for them.I’m a Texas Longhorn, but as President Bush said-today we’re all Hokies--indeed we are. When I say this I’m sure I speak for a lot of people out there-I felt great feeling of loss as though I knew each and every one of them.It evoked feelings similar to that of 9/11 with a greater magnitude. On this tragic day, some of us have lost a friend,son,daughter,brother,sister..I keep each of you who have lost a dear one in my prayers-today,tomorrow & always.May you be strong & have courage.Lets remember the ones whom we lost today with the strong values that they held in life;lets remember their love for life;their laughter;the love, knowledge & wisdom they shared;& their friendship. We should realize that Life is beautiful & make each day worthwhile. Take a moment to say to our loved ones how much we love them and appreciate them.Let them know.
