Condolences, April 18, 2007

My name is Dana James Young I am A Graduate
of Illinois State University class of 1974.
I am also a video tape editor for nbc news
in Chicago, I have been cuting stories of the
tragic happings at Virginia Tech. I feel bad enough referring to this human experience as a news story which in my heart it is not. I wish
in the inter recesses of my soul I could find
a way of easing your pain but as we all are members of the worlds suffering club we shall all find a way to make this earth a better place
through compassion and understanding more the human experience.
May God between us all and all empty places we must walk. Sincerely Dana James Young

I hope God finds a way to comfort the families and friends of those whose life was so unnecessarily cut short. May they rest in peace.I also hope something comes out of this so that such incidents never happen again anywhere in the world and these lives lost help save many more lives in the future

My prayers and condolences go out to the families of those who have been unjustly been taken, Virginia Tech students, faculty, and alumni.  I am sure that those who are no longer with us are in heaven and in a much better place in which awful, shocking, and dispicable acts such as these do not occur.  Let these deaths not be taken in vain, we must learn from this horrific event and come together as a nation.  To those who have passed, you will forever be in my heart and the hearts of countless others around the world.

I can’t fully understand or comprehend what you are all going through right now as I have never faced such a situation myself. I can only imagine how hard it’s going to be for you VTech students. My heart crys over such a tragedy but there are hundreds of people praying for you all. I know up here at UNI there are people praying for you students and the family, friends, and collegues of those that have left us.
It brought me back to memories of collumbine however this time it has hit a little closer to home for many college students accross teh country I’m sure.
Just remember that God is always there. Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

I was really shocked by the massacre, many of them who died are younger than me. They should have a wonderful life in their future, but sleep now and would never wake up. I could only prey for them, prey for them, prey for them…

I would like to ask the college police whether they have did their responsibility. It should have been avoid, right?

Our family mourns with those families whose loved ones were taken away from this very tragic event.  We pray that God comfort the hearts of all the families, friends and colleagues of the victims and heal those still fighting for their lives in the various hospitals.  May God bless VA Tech and their families and may He protect them from further evil acts.

I live in the town of the Bluffton University community, where all here are just beginning the healing process from the bus accident tragedy just last month. This latest incident on your campus was obviously no accident, yet nonetheless, many innocent lives were again wiped out in a matter of seconds; the same being true of the Bluffton baseball players in that bus. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire VT campus & their loved ones. I wish there were a logical explanation as to why this had to happen, but alas, the answer seems far too complex to be able to decipher at this point. May God be with all of you during this time of sorrow, as you try to comprehend all that has happened to your fine school, its faculty and its students.
Sincerely, Tanya Best

We have 32 more angels that will watch over and protect the living.  They have been called to perform higher duties.  Although we suffer here on earth without them and struggle with this senseless and horrific act, these angels have brought all of us closer together to care, communicate with one another, and provide each other comfort.  Tragedies remind us to love one another no matter what.  Let us learn to carry their lessons always and to not forget their lessons with time.  Their spirits are all around us and can be felt when the sun warms us on one of the first days of Spring, when a cool breeze caresses our skin on a hot summer day, when the warmth of a fireplace envelopes us on a frigid winter’s night, and when we hear their favorite song on the radio.  They are in our dreams when we surrender ourselves to sleep at night.

I recently lost my mother and never really had a chance to say goodbye and I still feel her with me and I believe I will be reunited with her again.

Life can take away what is most precious and dear to us at any moment.  But noone can ever take away your faith and hope.  Hold on to them to help you through.

My hearth goes out to exprim my pain and sorrow. That man took lives for no reason, leaving those behind in deep mourning.  My heart is broken and feels your pain.  An innocent took their lives.Remember love is stronger than hate, so remember those who died, and don’t forget every day is a gift and smile and say, thanks God I’m alive and I have a chance to see today. God Bless you all, and I pray these young people and adult teachers didn’t die in vain.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims , I’m very

touched by that horrible tragedy.

Dear God our Father, bless us with enough compassion to comfort those families who mourn now and enough compassion to act NOW by writing Congress to enact a new law that will prohibit any college age student or staff to carry weapons.  That only security guards be allowed to do so.  We are your hand maiden, your David against this Golaith of evil.  In the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus, The Prince of Peace, Amen.

I am so sad with and for all of you at Virginia Tech, but there will be a time when you will see that unexpected gifts come from tragedies.  Yesterday, cherished people were lost because of the senseless violence of one person, but today, there are equally cherished people still living and breathing because of the bravery of others.  When your sadness fades, let that be the memory you carry with you. May the honor and spirit and greatness of the innocents who were lost in this terrible event live on in you.

My heart goes out to all students, faculty and loved ones that have been left behind. This is a horrible time for all those involved. May God help you heal and become stronger. Remember all the good times with your lost loved ones. I’m sure it is what they would have wanted. God Bless you all.

I am a former resident of Blacksburg and I am still numb. As a pastor, I am used to dealing with difficult situations, but nothing could ever have prepared me for the complete and utter sadness in my heart and soul for all who have been touched by this tragedy. As a college student and medical student my heart goes out to everyone at Virginia Tech. The fragility of life was shown by this incident and all I can hope for amongst my grief is HOPE. Hope for the victims that they are in a better place...hope for the families that they will find peace, forgiveness and strength in God and each other. Hope for all the friends of victims, that they realize all the memories they had will never be taken away and hope for the student body that they will remain united and will help each other through everything that has happened. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. ~Sai S

It is sad that something like this can occur amongst students in a college like mine. It is shocking that students like this are sitting in classrooms everywhere waiting for someone to reach out to them for help. Lonliness is enough to make anyone mad. I hope that this opens the eyes of all students on campuses everywhere to accept, include and respect all students because you never know what will make someone snap. I have pitty on the soul that produced this tragedy. To all those who lost a chld, or a father, or a mother, I would hope that they can forgive Cho for his mistakes.
