Condolences, April 18, 2007

My heart is overwhelmed with sadness at the unbelievable extent of this tragedy.  The devastation one person can inflict on so many is incomprehensible.  Students, faculty members, families, and all who have been touched know that we as Americans stand by your side in grief. We share your in your devastation.  We will never forget.  May God be with us.

My family and all in California are by your side.

Jamie Bishop was a friend and former co-worker at UNC. He was gracious and generous with his time and help. He was multi-talented in a way which is best described as a true Renaissance man. I’ve missed him since the day he left Chapel Hill for Blacksburg. His wife Stephanie and the VT family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am a senior in high school and chose to attend Virginia Tech about a week before this incident.  I still plan to attend this fall.  After visiting the campus, I was hooked.  I can’t wait to begin classes in August and join the spirited community of Virginia Tech.  Surely no one will ever forget what happened on monday but let the world remember Virginia Tech in a positive way.  Show them how united you are and how many wonderful and caring students and professors there are on campus.  To all those that lost their lives, rest in peace, and to the families of those who lost their lives, the world is thinking about you and we are hurting with you.

I will continue to pray for the students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech.  As a fellow educator and parent, my heart pours out to you and the families touched by this horrible act.  May God bring you comfort during this time of tragedy and confusion.

My heart aches for those lost and effected by this tragedy.  It really makes me think what is happening to this world.  Everyone at VT is in my thoughts and prayers everyday.  When I lost my father at the age of thirteen one of my teachers came to the funeral and she said something to me that stuck with me forever.  She said this was the hardest thing I would ever go thru, but everyday it would get a little easier.  I hope they can all remember that and know that everyone in this country is thinking and praying for them.  God Bless you all.  Danielle G. 26

As an ‘02 graduate of VT with a brother who is a current Hokie (class of ‘08), I am deeply saddened and horrified by this tragedy.  I can’t imagine what the families of the victims are being forced going through, as well as the students, faculty, and staff that were forced to witness this horrifying ordeal.

My whole heart goes out to the family and friends who so senselessly and suddenly lost their loved ones.  May our healing begin together, with the worldwide support that has surfaced these past few days.

Dear Virginia Tech,
God’s Peace to each of you and thank you for so patiently allowing so many of us not connected with your campus to express our shock and sorrow. As the father of a young woman who will herself leave for college in a few years, I am deeply shaken by this horrible act and can only pray that time will lessen the intense pain you now feel. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Virginia Tech community--students, faculty, parents, and alumni alike.
In closing, I must share that several years ago, while designing research for my Ph.D. studies, I visited Virginia Tech’s website often to acquaint myself with the fine academic work for which VT is known.  Though not an alumni, perhaps this gives me some sense of solidarity with Virginia Tech.
May God bless you all,

I want pretend to know the pain that you are all feeling at this time, but know that we all in some way have gone throught it. Every cry you cry we are with you and every worry we are worrying with you. Yes you have lost friends and loved ones but as a nation we have lost as well. These were our leader for the furture or stenghts the we had not met yet and our bright tomorrows. Though the light has gone from their bodies they live on through us and are looking to us to make this not happen again.

My family is sadden by what happen and we as world are here for you. I have read the message each filled with love and carrying of only trying to make you all feel better in some way it is our way of helping. While we did not know these people truly we did know them lovingly. God has taught us to love one another and now days it seems hard to do but some day we will.

May God Bless you and keep you all safe and we are all here for you all you have to do it see.
