Condolences, April 18, 2007

Dear Students, Faculty, Family and Friends of Virginia Tech,

As a current Junior at Roger Williams University, there will not be a day in my college life, that I do not step into a classroom and think of this unspeakable tragedy.  So many amazing, talented, thoughtful and wonderful students and faculty were lost that day, not only to VT, but also to the world. The students and faculty killed, made the courageous decision to pursue higher education to benefit society and themselves, and no one has the right to take that away from anyone. I pray, hope and wish for the best for everyone affected, including every college student in the world. Sadly, we are reminded that this world we live in, as beautiful and bountiful as it is, can be a harsh one. I also think that it’s important that we remember the brave students and faculty that tried, in some cases to the death, to protect their fellow colleagues from this killer. Lastly, I hope that all VT students can return to the classroom someday, that all children who lost a parent can find forgiveness and acceptance, and that every young person in the world, continues to pursue their dreams of higher education. God Bless.

Sincerely,
Kerensa Gallaway

to You like they have never run before.  We pray for increased faith.
We pray for spiritual growth.  We pray for Christian fellowship &
salvation of souls.  We pray that your hand will move mightily over
Blacksburg, VA & over this nation.  Touch souls right now & comfort

My name is Tori Wright and I am only thirteen years of age. On Monday I didn’t think of this as a big deal, but when I got home i started watching the news. This was a horrific event. when 9/11 occured i was only in the second grade so it didn’t effect me as much as this does. When i saw the news i cried. This terrible occurance has brought me great sadness, but we will get through this tough time. The whole United States of America. We will stand strong because we are the HOKIES! We will work to prevent this from ever happening again because we are the HOKIES! We will shed our tears, but the people who knew and cared about the victims will cherish the time they had to spend with them. We will be sad, but tomorrow is a new day and we will get through this. beacuse WE ARE THE HOKIES!!!

There really are no words that can comfort or ease the pain that you are currently experiencing.  Time is the only healer of your sadness and disbelief, but know that you are not alone and that the world grieves with you.  This is truly a trajedy of huge proportions and though I didn’t personally know anyone involved in the incident my heart goes out to all those that have been affected by this incident.  The victims their families, friends and classmates are all in my thoughts and prayers.  The way everyone has rallied together as a united University determined to remain strong is awe inspiring.  God Bless you!

Students, Staff, Faculty, Family Members, and Friends:

My prayers and thoughts are with you!  For this to happen at any institution of learning my heart grieves for you.  I agree with others, I pray this is the last time we see a tragic event that happened at any school, church, hospital, in this World.  Keep your heads held high, keep acheiving your dreams, your goals, and stay on your paths that you have started or have been on.  God is with you my brothers and sisters.

Dear Virginia tech Community,

We are so deeply saddened by the traumatic events that have happened to your family, friends and fellow students.  Please know that you are not alone.  There are so many people across the country that are thinking of all of you and wishing there was something we could do to take away your pain.  We were amazed to see the outpouring of love and support from the entire nation. In such a horrific situation, we were so awed at the courage of some of the students.  Thinking of others lives rather than their own, what a brave act you’ve done for your fellow students.  Virginia Tech should be so proud of themselves.  We will continue to pray for you and know that God is walking right beside you all.  You are not alone.

God Bless Virginia Tech

This incident has deeply moved me. I think the lives of people in VT are touched for ever - ams for those who nearly escaped death - their memories of this incident will haunt hem every day. It is a shame and pity that the targets were chosen at random. It brought back vivid memories of the sniper in Washington DC. This has definitely reaffirmed my faith in GOD the almighty and I glad to just be alive.

To the Virginia Tech Family,

You need time...time to ease some of the hurt, provide some forgiveness, and allow you to remember all the good things about those that were lost.

As long as you hold them in your hearts they will never really be gone.  Just til you meet again…

As a fairly recent college graduate and fellow Virginian I share your grief and sorrow. I grew up only 2 hours away from VT and have many friends who have attended Virginia Tech. To have something so tragic happen in my own backyard is so surreal and hurts so much. As I heard a teacher from VT state this morning, the holes that have been left in all of you (the family and friends of the victims) have also been left in me and many others all around the nation and world. Please know that I am praying for you all.God be with you and give you comfort during your time of healing! You are loved and not alone!!
