Dear friends,
We want you to know that we hold you in our hearts and we are so sorry for all that has happened at Tech. You have all been such an example to us all--supporting and loving each other, reaching out to each other. We’re praying for you, that you will be comforted in your sorrow, and that God will work for good in the midst of this terrible circumstance. We only wish we could be there to put our arms around you.

I still sit in shock and am numb by the events that occurred.  Words cannot express how much sadness is felt in my heart.  Please remember you are not alone in your shock and sorrow.  Somehow, we as a community, nation and the world will get through this with the help of loving others.  Express it...no matter what the day or moment brings - don’t forget to let others know how much you love them.

Peace and love be with each and every one of you.

I am a parent of 2 young children and the feeling of pain is unimaginable. I couldn’t presume to know what it’s like for those parents, family members and friends. I will be praying for all of you. I would also like to tell all the emergency personnel, the VT Police Dept, the B’burg Police, State Police, Sheriff’s Dept and all the others that helped during this tragic time, that they not only did what they were trained for, but much more. They went above and beyond that. What they witnessed is not something anyone should have to see in any lifetime. God Bless the men and women who helped save these children. My family will be praying for all the families involved in this tragic incident.

To the entire VT family of students, faculty and alums…

I had many close friends who went to VT and know intimately the strong bonds all of you share as past and present members of the school. Remember and honor those lost to this needless and awful tragedy...countless thousands of people in this country and throughout the world mourn with you. Let their memory be your strength as you attempt to carry on. Our thoughts are with you all.

I am not sure what I want to say exactly.  It is so hard putting these kind of emotions into words.  To put it simply - I am praying for each one of the victims, the victims’ families, the gunman’s family and the rest of the students/faculty of Virginia Tech.  I have been amazed at the students who have been interviewed and how strong, well-spoken and courageous they are.  Keep marching forward.

My thoughts and Prayers are with you and your families.  I can’t imagine the grief you must be going through.  I have watched this unfold since day 1, and I am sure you have a lot of questions.  Just remember it takes time to heal and time to have those questions answered.  Turn to your family and friends for help, and remember don’t let his actions tear your campus apart, but make it stronger.

I cannot fully imagine what all of you are going through, but as a professor at a college campus I do understand your “everyday world”.  All of us in America have been affected by the violence that has fractured your everyday world, and for that I send my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers.

A Young Gunman

A young armed gunmen in our schools
How could he take their lives so bright and new
Taking from us our most precious jewels
These lost and broken dreams left in ruin
This cant be real what can we do?

Sirens ringing in our ears filling our hearts with terrible fear
No parent should have to say, “Is it my child that died today”?
Sent to school only to learn, never to return home.

Memorials placed for dear children lost
With only “whys?” in our thoughts
Where from here do we start to heal
How do we forgive and begin again

As fellow students, we cannot convey the sadness we feel at the horrible tragedy that has taken place at your school. It’s hard for us to imagine such a thing happening at our own school and if we would react with such respect for the school and for those who died.  All of us wish the best for all of the students and faculty and we share our condolences.

Loss is something that everyone will experience throughout their lives, but the horror that your school experienced is something that no person deserves.  This situation is not fair and most people will struggle their entire lives trying to make sense if it, but in reality, it will always remain a mystery. I can say for certain that every student and faculty member at Virginia Tech will always be recognized as some of the bravest people our generation has ever seen.

In trying to cope with this immense loss, you will unify in a way not typically seen, and eventually life will improve.  Right now, remember that people all over the nation are thinking of you and those that were lost.  We empathize with you not only because we are human beings, but also because many of us are fellow students, friends and educators.  Here at the University of Vermont we experienced a tragedy with the loss of one of our fellow students at the beginning of the year.  All of us here are thinking about you and know that this too will pass.  Although the pain feels so immense and overwhelming right now, life will go on.  Once again, I am so sorry for your loss.  Remember that we are all here with you.

In the strongest sense of the word - Peace.

To all of Virginia Tech and their families;
I hope you all know that you have the hearts and prayers of most of the world with you. My son and his wife both attended VT and through the years of visiting the campus, I came to understand the passion they felt for their school, fellow students and staff. Tech has a power that grows with each new student. No where else in my life have I witnessed the solidity of honor and pride as in the eyes and hearts of the Hokies. It is this passion that will help you find your way through, to become stronger. My prayers are with you and will continue to be forever. Although it will be hard, try to remember that you are Hokies and that alone speaks volumes. God bless each and everyone of you.

As a divorced/single parent of a 4th year college student, my heart aches for each and every parent who has suffered a loss.  I can not imagine how you will get through the next few days, months, maybe years with any degree of sanity or understanding. I hurt so much for you and yet I don’t know any of you. But a mother must have these feelings or she is not a mother. I have prayed for each of you that God will bring you that sense of sanity in spite of this insane world and give you understanding when it seems impossible to understand.  God bless you.

To each student at VT.  Don’t loose your faith in mankind.  Truly, this world is filled with loving, caring and nurturing people.  At times like this, it is hard to believe but it is true.  My heart goes out to all of you and I wish I coule give each of you a hug.  You are in my prayers. Go Hokies!  From a UNCC 49’ers mom.

Although I lost no one in this great tragedy, everone who has a child, mother, father, borther, sister, grandchild or friend knows the hurt you are feeling.  You only have to see their faces to know that they were loved and it could have easily been someone whom I’d known.

I am glad to see the world coming together and think that those who lost thier lives are smiling down on everyone knowing that their sacrific was not for nothing.
