As a graduate of an ACC sister school (Maryland), I wanted to express my deepest condolences for what happened at your campus.  I am sure that words cannot express the hurt each of you must be feeling at this dark hour.

Know that no matter where we call home or what school we earned our degree at, we are all Hokies and stand with each of you, shoulder to shoulder.

God bless you all…

Dear Students and Faculty,
My husband and I grieve with you all and send our prayers to you from Nevada.  Our university - University of Nevada, held a tribute candlelight program last evening for the students and faculty who died. I saw yours on TV and it was heartwarming and a beautiful tribute for all who perished. There is going to be a healing, and I think it has started; and may our Lord bless you all and keep you in his arms.

We want you to know we in Nevada send our love, prayers to all of you.
Sincerely,

Dear Virginia Tech Family,

I am still in shock and over the shooting on campus at Virginia Tech!  I send out my deepest sympathy to all of the Virginia Tech family (faculty, students, friends, parents and alumni).

As most Tech alumni will tell you, “Once a Hokie, always a Hokie!” I will always feel connected to that campus as well as the Blacksburg community itself.  I reminisce often of my times at Virginia Tech.

With my first child on the way, it was a realizations, that as a parent, we can never truely protect our children from harms way - we just have to love them and prepare them as much as we can before we send them out into the world.  My thoughts are with the parents who lost a child.

Hokies,

I am a double Masters from VT and spent the most memorable years of my life in Blacksburg.  I am shocked and devastated by the turn of events over last few days.  I cannot be more proud of the Administration, Students, Alumni and Faculty of my alma mater. The way they have represented the Hokie Nation during these difficult times is commendable.  I always felt part of this great family but this event has brought me closer, more than ever. I salute you students for the way you have represented the school over the Media.

My prayers, thoughts and sympathies are with the victims, their families, friends and all our fellow Hokies. It is so sad and unbelievable that something this terrible could happen to members of our Hokie Family and in such a wonderful community as Virginia Tech/Blacksburg---a place that always seemed so idyllic. Over the years, I have told many people how Tech cares for its students while they are there and after they graduate. Hokie pride, caring and love run deep, wide and forever.

To students, faculty and friends at Virgina Tech:

Even in the midst of tragedy, we can be uplifted by examples of heroism. I wonder if Liviu Librescu questioned over the years why he survived the horrors of the Holocaust while so many others died.  Now we know.

To The Families,Friends and Students of VT-
There simply are no words that I can offer to take your pain away.  I was a Chi Omega and graduated from VT in 1990 - one of my proudest achievements...Ever.  I continue to be proud of this fine school and offer up the words below in this time of grief.
Hokie Love,
Graham Cromwell Gray
TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVE ME

When I am gone, release me, let me go,
I have so many things to say and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears,
be happy that we had these years.

I give you my love.
You can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown,
But now it’s time I travel on alone.
So grieve a while, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It’s only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away,
For life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near,
And if you listen with your heart you’ll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and “Welcome Home.”

Dear Hokies,

Even though I now live thousands of miles away and it has been 5 years since I graduated from VT, this tragic event still hits me as if I were still living in Blacksburg.  I think most alumni would agree that Virgina Tech will always have a fond place in our hearts.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy.  Although this will be a tough wound to heal, I have no doubt that the Hokie spirit will prevail in all of us once again.

Dear student and faculty body,

My deepest sympathy and remorse regarding this tragedy. As a substitute high school teacher, death has been something that the faculty and student body at my school had to cope with a few months ago when 3 of our students were killed in a car accident. Although the circumstances were different than that of V Tech, the student body, faculty members, and community came together, as I am sure is what has been happening at your canpus and community.
Stay strong and hope for the future, as my school has done....our prayers and condolences.

And, until we meet again
