2 Tim 3:1-5 speaks of “last days critical to deal with” and of “men...having no natural affection...” and clearly this was seen on this tragic day.  But draw comfort in knowing that the dead are not forgotten by God & he promises a resurrection of life (John 5:28,29).  May this promise bring all who are deeply hurt by this event some comfort.  Know that Jehovah God is a loving Father who cares for us all.  You are in our loving thoughts & prayers.

It is our hope that the many expressions of consolences and sympathy will give comfort to the families of the students and faculty whose lives were so senselessly taken Monday morning, as well as to the families of students who are recovering from injuries (both physical and emotional) as a result of this horrific event.  We want you ALL to know that you do not suffer alone.  All across this nation, families just like yours are grieving with you and praying for healing, strength and comfort during this time of unimaginable pain.  We pray, too, for the entire community of Virginia Tech students, faculty and administration.  As evidenced by the many interviews televised recently, there is undoubtedly a fierce sense of loyalty and camaraderie among the students of VT, which will certainly see them through this crisis and make this institution stronger than ever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Thinking of You

Our “Heartfelt Thoughts” go out to the families, friends, students and staff.

Loss is hard and to have such a senseless act as this happen suddenly is so very very sad...and surreal.

Hold each other tight, gain strength from each other, talk and listen to each other and “never” loose your faith.

Hurting is a part of healing and “you” will heal in time but never forget. We hope these words will help to comfort you in the days to follow.

Take care,
Vivian and Howard Reidford

Dear Hokies,

As a graduate of The University of Alabama I have long been aware of your University through my love of college sports. Like everyone, I was shocked and saddened to get news of the tragedy of April 16.  As a Social Worker with 25 years work experience in mental health, I can imagine your suffering.  Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.  While many died, their spirits remain and will be uplifted as you move through the grief.  The human spirit is resilient and unquenchable.  You will survive and thrive.  Though it is likely we will never meet, I love you all.  May peace and serenity soon return to Blacksburg.  Randy Johnson

I see so little hope in you,
So much despair,
As I look in your eyes I wonder,
What thoughts linger there.
Life means nothing to you,
At least that’s what they say,
But it doesn’t mean that you have the right to take life away.

You say the world is full of bullshit,
So you kill just as you see fit.
They say that you’re a fanatic with a mission.
We all go through hell in some kind of way,
Can you tell me what it’s like to be there every day?

When you were young you had a vision
Why’d you go and do a thing like that?
And now we see you on the television.
Imagine our surprise when we saw you on the news,
And reporters came around and asked for interviews.

When you were just a child
You’d hide away when other children cried
But how were we to know
These tears that flowed were from a killer’s eyes

I see so little hope in you,
So much despair,
As I look in your eyes I wonder,
What thoughts linger there.
Life means nothing to you,
At least that’s what they say,
But it doesn’t mean that you have the right to take life away.

Those killer’s eyes
See the whites of their eyes
Those killer’s eyes
See the whites of their eyes

To Everyone in the VT Community,

I am broken hearted for all of you.  This is such an unbelievable tragedy that I keep hoping to wake up and have it be a dream.  But that is not to be.  Having just lost my father, who was my best friend, I am grieving even more for all of you.  I pray every night that your friends and colleagues are with my parents in a better place and will now be our guardian angels.  They will always be with you and they will forever be in the thoughts and prayers of all of us.
Be strong and have faith that there is a reason and purpose to everything, even though this seems like a horribly random act.  We may not know today, but hopefully someday we will see.

Sincerely,
M. Laielli

My thoughts and prayers out to all those families who have lost. It’s days like these that bring reality within a breath’s reach, isn’t it? I know that if we could turn back, we would fix things. But in all reality, we can’t. All we can do is press on and make it so that this can’t repeat itself. My heart is split into many, many pieces. And each of those pieces goes out to a family who needs it. I only pray that we can get through this. And I know it’s not easy. It’s not easy knowing that someone you talked to jus yesterday, is now a memory. I am here with you, and I love you all.

Sincerely,

My heart goes out to the students, parents, and staff at Va. Spend all your time waiting for that second chance,
for a break that would make it okay
theres always one reason
to feel not good enough
and it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonite,
In the arms of an Angel
fly away from here
from this cold dark hotel room,
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you’re in the arms of the Angels
may you find some comfort there
So tired of the straight line and everywhere you turn
there’s vultures and thieves at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don’t make no difference
escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness,oh this glorious sadness, that brings me to my knees....
In the arms of the Angels
fly away from here..
from this cold dark hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear,
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you’re in the arms of the Angels
may you find some comfort there
you’re in the arms of the Angels,
may you find some comfort there..
