My eyes swell with tears thinking of the horrific reality that we are all faced with. I cannot begin to imagine what the students, family and faculty are going through right now. Please know that when you pray, you are not alone; when you greive, you do not greive alone; when you are sad, when you question why, when you seek answers, when you try to find the blessings in this, you do not do this alone. We pray, cry, wonder, ask, and question with you. You are not alone. I cannot hug you but close your eyes and feel the warmth of love and commpassion wrap around you, I am there.

There is really nothing I can say other than I am so very sorry for all the losses at your campus.  I can only hope that those lost did not die in vain, and there can be lessons learned and security methods applied to prevent another campus from experiencing such a tragedy.

As a spouse of a VT professor, I can’t begin to explain the sorrow I feel for the entire VT community and the fear I experienced on April 16th.  It is so obvious by the postings on this site that the country and the world have been deeply impacted by this tragedy and share in your grief.  The sense of Hokie pride is evident and, while it will take some time to heal from this horrific event, the community will in time.  My heart felt sympathy goes out to all of the families who lost loved ones.

We were graduate students at Tech from 1991 to 1994. We always think back to those years as one of the best times of our life thanks to all the great people we met at Virginia Tech.
Our thoughts are with the victims, friends and families. We hope - and we are sure - that Virginia Tech will bounce back and again will become that great place as we remember it.

I am a Hokie Parent who like many right now is thanking God for our blessings. My son was spared the rath of the shooter and for that I give thanks.  It is with a heavy heart and mind that I am trying to understand this insanity. Maybe we are not to understand but accept and move forward to make changes where changes are needed. I pray for the victims, their families, and the Hokie Community that good will prevail over this evil that invaded our lives. Rhonda White

To Everyone at Virginia Tech:

My prayers are with each one of you and to the families of the students who have died and the ones who have been injuried.  There is no words that an express what a person is feeling only each of you who have lived this event really understands the pain and know how each of you are feeling.  But lean on your family, friends, and share your feelings with your families, friends and even strangers because as you have seen over the past several days that not only here in the U.S. but around the world you are in the hearts of people as the healing process begins.

One of my close friends graduated from your college and she is such a great woman and inspiration.  She teaches an elementary school here in Hawaii and is one of the smartest, most inspiring, caring, and proactive teachers I have ever met.  I believe that her education at Virginia Tech is the reason for her being such a talented teacher.

In the wake of this tragedy I can’t help but feel the heartbreak and gut wrenching loss everyone at your school is enduring because of one sick individual.  My condolences and prayers to all of those who were killed or injured and to their families and friends.  I am still so shocked at how such a nightmare could happen.  One day you’re waking up to go to school and then this happens and so many lives are lost.

I hope that VA Tech and the entire campus community can come together and unite and not let the actions of this sick pathetic psycho make the school divided or weakened.  We all support you and know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.  God Bless. ~Jean G.~
