Ive never felt your pain of losing a child but have felt the pain of losing a loved one. It hurts so bad that sometimes its hard to get up in the morning. Time heals all wounds. I hope that in the shadow of this dark event you may find hope, strength, and a perseverence to be undeterred by the unforgiveable actions of another.  God be with you, and with the families of those who lost their lives.

I have been in tears since Monday when the news broke out about the tragedy that took place.  If there were words that could be spoken to ease the pain you are feeling, there would be a line of people to speak them.  If there was a way to undo it, people would channel their energy to do that.  Grace and Peace to all of you affected by this tragedy.  You do not walk alone.

Dear students,

You are an example for us all.

We all asked, how can this be?
You all responded: LET’S GO HOKIES!

We all asked how will the University be viewed by the world.
You all responded: LET’S GO HOKIES!

We all asked if our beloved Alma Mater would ever be the same.
You all responded: LET’S GO HOKIES!

It’s become clear to me in the wake of this tragedy that the school I graduated from 12 years ago has not changed, save for one very important aspect. You all have made it stronger.

Students, faculty, staff and friends and family of Hokies everywhere, Monday was a sad day. But we’re already showing the world that it won’t be the one that defines us.

My prayers go out to everyone involved.

Words cannot express how we feel or lessen our pain. We want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Today you have an extended family around the world that is wrapping its arms around you. There are people you don’t know and will never meet who are going through this unbearable time with you. Don’t give up on your dreams and know that when school starts again, you will not be alone.  David, Arlene, Brandon, and Hayden Ledbetter

You are all an unbelievable group of people, showing strength and unity, love and compassion, in a time of utter despair and tragedy.

We all share in your grief and will support you, we will be there for you to lean on, we will pick you back up when you fall and set you lightly back on your feet.

Be strong, be courageous, be a family. Dry eachother’s tears, and open your arms for others to be held.

I’m still in shock that this would happen here in our country, in our schools. My prayers are with all the students and staff that have been hurt. And to the families, my prayers are with each and everyone of you. Hang in there, like my mother says “ Keep on truckin.”

Sincerely, Jennifer Romo and family.

Although horrible things like these are so hard to understand, please remember that God is in control and He has this world in the plam of His hand. Give your pain and heartache to Him and He will help you in your healing.

Saddened by this event I offer my condolances. According to students and faculty at Virginia Tech it has become obvious Cho Seung-Hui exhibited troubling behaviour for a substantial amount of time before killing the 32 students and staff. I sincerely hope this is a wake up for everyone in all walks of life. If your friend, roommate, student, teacher, family member or neighbor is having problems they cannot handle, please become involved. People in need do not have to suffer alone. If Cho Seung-Hui had received help he and others may not be dead today. This is not a gun-control issue. This is not a South Korean issue. This is about the people who make up the melting-pot of America not coming together and helping our neighbors.

My heart and prayers go out to each and every person at Virginia Tech, along with family members and friends. Now is the time that we all take each others hands and stand strong for we are ALL HOKIES!!!

My deepest sorrow for the loss of such a group of talented and extremely loved individuals.  Let it only remind us that our time here is only for a short time, and that we should live it as today is our last day.  You were blessed to have known these individuals, even if for such a short while.

Dear God,
I need you lord, help me to wrap my arms around all those suffering today at Virginia Tech University. Help make sure that every single one of them hears our prayers, and feels comforted by them. They are not alone in this. The world is crying with them.
Please Lord, help the victims and their families overcome this senseless act of violence. Let them know that you have their friends and family under your arm and they are all safe now.
Amen.

May you all have the courage and strength to move passed this in the coming days, months and years.

People are right when they say Virginia Tech will never be the same.......it’s now going to be stronger and better then ever!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

When death is on the wing
When evil is in the wind
When angels strain to contend
When we cannot comprehend
When blood stains the ground
When tears flow immeasurably down
Let no one say this is about race
because blood is red and tears are clear,
and rage is a maelstrom of discontent.

The exponential explosion of rage that
occurred at Virginia Tech as reverberated
thru society and our psyche. We seek answers
and a solace to our agony. We labor now
to comfort and assist. We pray for strength
in the coming times to press on. We will
remember the brightness of every victim’s life
that can never be extinguished by darkness.
Thank you Professor Librescu for indeed
rescuing your students.  May angels minister
now to you.  May all those who mourn be met
in their darkest moment of need by the
healing light and peace of the Eternal God.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln, the Gettysburg
address, “that from these honored dead we take
increased devotion” - to preserve the sanctuary
of learning as a protected freedom.

With tears and prayers,
Susan Domnarski
