As part of my job, I remember sending AP (Advanced Placement) scores to Virginia Tech for your talented young people. The world has lost a community of individuals who could have truly impacted the future. These young adults will never be forgotten and they will be missed.

I only found out about the shootings after a night out with friends, and seeing the images of grieving students, it came home to me how I might feel if I was in your situation, if these were my friends- I can’t imagine the pain you are feeling, but the thoughts and prayers of myself and those around me are with you all.

Tuesday - 17 April 2007-"The Day After”
---------------------------------------
Cadillac Rock Box sends their condolences to the 33 families who’ve lost their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, loved ones on 16 April 2007 at Virginia Tech University.

We sat and talked about the loss at practice, how? Why?

We also send our thoughts and prayers to the wounded. We wish you the best of get well wishes.

A young student walked through this school of higher learning and ended their lives because of his own vicious mind, which we will never get the answer, “Why?”.

He got off light.

We are putting out the call to everyone to donate money to the families for helping them in the sad task of laying their loved ones to rest.

We send our love and prayers out to the families, friends and loved ones of those lost.

We are going to put together a show for you guys down there to cheer you up, it’s the least we could do!

With saddened hearts

To all the family members who lost a child at VT.
My heart crys for all of you. My son graduated from VT in May of 2006. The first thing I said to myself was, Thank God, my son was not there. But, then I thought, what would I have done if he had been there? No words… can help the pain a mother or father would experience in a murder of this kind. My son and I feel for each of you as you go through this unreal experience. But each and every child that has gone to or is going to VT is still proud of their school and to say they are a “HOKIE”. So lets keep our collage proud and don’t let one person steal that from the ones here or the ones we have lost. They are so proud!
They are Virginia Tech. “Our Hokie’s” Our children!

In a moment of unbelievable tragedy, the students who have recounted their experiences and shared their grief with the World, have done so with poise, grace and compassion. Even in the darkest hour, you have all shone through as rays of hope for the future of America. You have become a beacon of hope, not just in the U.S. but to every student in every continent of this planet. we salut you, we pray for you and we will never forget you! I would like to send my condolences to all family, friends, and loved ones of those injured or killed in this horrible incident.

As a graduate student, it is hard to understand how an environment of learning and motivation can become a nightmare.

I am so inspired by the great amount of forgiveness, love and pereverance that is evident among Hokies. I will remember Virginia Tech for that. God bless you all.

My family settled there (Price’s) back in the 1700’s (Price’s Fork), and have had many family and friends to graduate there over many years.I feel very, very close to that school and would defend it in a heartbeat. I want you to know that I support you (students, school, faculty, Blacksburg Police, Dr. Steger, etc.), and am behind you 100%. Just know that there are people out there that care very much for you and will be there if you need us.  Stay strong and focused as best you can and do NOT let the media tear you down. You are the very embodiment of a true community that cares for one another and the media will try and rip it apart.  Stay strong. Much love to you all and God Bless.

My heart goes out to each and everyone affected by this horrible event. I especially would like the family and friends of the victims to know it is an extremely difficult time now going through the loss of loved ones, but God is in control of everything in this world and please do not blame Him for what occurred. Each individual killed is now in His presence and they are much happier as they live in a paradise we as mortals could never comprehend until we are reunited with them. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all affected by this terrible tragedy.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY
AND MEMORIES WERE A LANE
I WOULD WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN
TO BRING YOU HOME AGAIN
NO FAREWELL WORDS WERE SPOKEN
NO TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
YOU WERE GONE BEFORE I KNEW IT
AND ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY
MY HEART STILL ACHES WITH SADNESS
AND SECRET TEARS STILL FLOW
WHAT IT MEANT TO LOSE YOU
NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW”

When I heard of the heroic actions of Ryan Clark and the professor who barricaded his class door while his students escaped through windows, I was reminded of the words of Jesus when He said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13.) What a comfort it must be to the families of these two brave individuals who put others before themselves in an attempt to save lives.
My prayers are for all the victims of this senseless tragedy.

Several years ago, we adopted a soldier in Iraq - he was a HOKIE - and he conveyed his Hokie Pride to us.  As we have continued our friendship through the years, we have gotten to know his Hokie brothers and sisters.  They have always embraced us with the warmth and affection they have for one another.

Because we have the honor of knowing these Hokie’s, we are confident that your community will unite to help one another in this most difficult time, and from it you will rise.

Know that our prayers and thoughts are with you now and will be with you for sometime.
