Hokies-

72 hours ago we were rivals. Today we are all students, teachers, and humans trying to make sense of a horrible situation. My thoughts are with all hokies in this darkest hour. Eventually the light will shine again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are affected by this horrible tragedy. It makes all of us think twice about our own lives and how much we appreciate everything that we have. A tragedy like this is truely unimaginable in every day life, however when it does happen it takes everyone to get through it. God bless everyone who has lost someone and all the students who have witnessed this inhumane event. this is a time to remember how wonderful these people were. They will not be forgotten, for they are truely heros

Remember me
When the color of a sunset fills the sky
Remember me
When you pray and tears of joy
fall from your eyes

And age to age
And heart to heart
Bound by grace and peace
Child of wonder
Child of God
I’ve remembered you
Remember me

My Heart, Thoughts, and Prayers go out to each and everyone at VT to include families, and the community. I have been glued to MSNBC since day one of the awful horror everyone had to endure at VT. I can’t even begin to image what students, parents, and teachers are enduring at this time. My heart goes out to everyone and the sadness has definitely laid heavy upon my heart. Everyone at VT seems so close and supportive of each other, one can’t help but being touched by this courageous kindness.

Fellow Hokies, Families, & Friends:  Although, the events of 4/16/07 have deeply saddened me, I have never been so proud to be a Hokie.  The Hokie Nation has pulled together to support the victims, their families and friends, and the students & faculty.  We as Hokies have a spirit that is strong and steadfast to support one another.  We are Hokies not only for the years we may spend in Blacksburg; but for the rest of our lives.  My deepest condolences to the victims and their families.

My husband and I are both Va Tech alumni living halfway across the globe, in India. So the pain and loss are personal and unbelievably real. We grieved with you as we watched, shocked and distraught; we stood by you at the candlelight vigil, holding you close in heart, in thought, in prayer, in shared tears...Its a long, dark, unforgettable night. But we Hokies will live and rise to see the sun shine again.

I have lived in Montgomery County my whole life and I have never been so upset as I was 04/16/2007.  And in the aftermath of everything all the national media can do is wonder what our police department and Virginia Tech did wrong.  We need to focus on our fellow brothers and sisters and helping them heal during this time.  They never got to say good bye to there sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends and they need us not the media casting doubt about how it was handled. My family and I hold all the VT students and staff close in our hearts and prayers.

What tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all friends and family who lost a loved one.

Also, we continue our prayers to those still recovering whether physically or mentally. We realize that your journey to healing has only just begun and will be a long one. Although we cannot be physically with those of you directly impacted by this horrific event, please be assured that our thoughts, prayers and well wishes will not leave your side.

So many questions now left unanswered. Yet, so many questions that are due to be answered.

Our children/students/Americans should not live in a society where we must fear places such as schools. These locations should be sanctuaries. How can we help change this as a nation? We must bond to prevent this from ever reoccurring. Let not the memories of these talented intelligent people go down into history without having impacted positive change onto our nation, better yet onto the world.

far away but close by heart. we send you all the luck from berlin, germany.

german poetic word for deep condolences:

Still, seid leise,

All the best Marc, Paola, Leandro

When I first saw the news Monday morning, I was shocked and deeply saddened.  I prayed.  I cried.  I wish I had more to offer than my thoughts, prayers and tears.  I am a college student myself, and can’t even begin to imagine a typical day in class being turned into a nightmare such as this.  My hope is that God will reach down His hand and comfort all who lost friends and family, and that through this tragic ordeal, love, strength and hope will prevail.  My prayers are with you daily.

Greetings,

This tragedy grieves me so much.  I URGE YOU!  PRAY AND SEEK OUR MIGHTY AND LOVING GOD!!  He is the HEALER, SAVIOR AND THE RESTORER OF THE BROKEN-HEARTED.  He is ALWAYS there for you, NO MATTER WHAT.  Please trust him for the answers to the hard questions.  Jesus said, in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” We are not guaranteed another day on this earth.  This tragedy demonstrated this.  “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment...” (Hebrews 9:27) But, “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (I Corinthians 6:2) God created us to fellowship with him!  It is our sin that separates us from a HOLY God.  Nothing will save you from eternal death in hell except JESUS CHRIST!! (John 14:6) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) The devil hates you and wants to steal, kill and destroy you. (John 10:10) Don’t let him like the young man who killed those 32 people did.  Confess your sins, repent of your sins and acknowledge that you need Jesus in your heart as your personal Lord and savior.

Thank you!

To all individuals who lost a loved one, whether they were a family member, friend or classmate, my sincerest heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with you.  My family lived in the Christiansburg area for several years and grew to LOVE the HOKIE campus!  The spirit, atmosphere and outstanding reputation that is associated with Virginia Tech quickly became a source of outings for us. When the news flashed about the dreadful happenings, my heart was broken for the loss of life and injuries there.  Know in your heart, as you grieve, that others are grieving with each of you and we care.  May God be with each one of you to strengthen you today and in the days ahead.  You are loved, cared about and prayed for as you recover.

I am a student and mother of two from Indiana. I am horrified and saddened by what happened Monday morning. I heard parents of the victims talking this morning on our local news radio station. I was on my way to the grocery and just sat in my car in tears. I can’t imagine what the family and friends of these victims are going through. It is so hard not to be angry and curse the shooter and be thankful he is not here anymore. The victims, family of the victims and friends of the victims are all in my thoughts and prayers now AND in the future. May God see you through this time.

In this sad world of ours, sorroe comes to all…
It comes with bittersweet agony…
Perfect relief is not possible, except with time..
You cannot now realize that you will ever feel better…
And yet this is a mistake.
You are sure to be happy again.
To know this, which is certainly true,
Will make you some less miserable now.
I have experienced enough to know what I say.

I would just like to take this time to say how truly sorry I am that something like this has had to happen.  I hope that people will focus on the tragedy of what has happened and not play the “what if” game.  We cannot change what has happened; it does us no good to lay the blame.  Hopefully we can learn from this experience and celebrate the wonderful life these young individuals have led.  My prayers are with the victim’s families, friends, fellow students, faculty, and many others at Virginia Tech.
God be with you,
