My heart breaks for all the victims of the tragic events April 16th. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Virgina Tech family. Many people around the world are coming together and praying for the victims, their families, the medical teams, and all unviversity students and employees. God just gained many angels! May we use this as a lesson to all schools, both near and far, to enhance the security in order to prevent such a tragedy to happen again.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers, and will never be forgotten…

My thoughts are prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragic shooting.  I am in shock that a person can be so careless in life and kill innocent people.  I cannot begin to imagine what it feels like to have been there or have known someone affected by this.  I can tell you I have been through Hurricane Katrina lost my home, been seperated by loved ones, had friends who lost loved ones from the storm.  My advice is be to strong and keep your faith. People all over the world are praying for you. Time will heal your hearts. Don’t let this steal your joy. And please don’t let this tragedy get the best of you.  In life when you are delt with blows you must bat them down and press on.  If I were there I would give you a big hug and do whatever I can you lift your spirits.  God Bless you all!!

I live in a small town in NW NC. I saw the scenes on TV as this tragedy unfolded. I have never been so saddened and hopeful. I was sad that so many had lost their lives, but found hope at the sight of the Virginia Tech students. You came together and showed me, and the world, how strong and loving America is. Thank you for your courage and bravery in a time of great grief.

God be with all of the Virginia Tech Family. Our heartfelt sympathies are with each and every one of you. We have been so interested in this story since it happened Monday that we can hardly turn on the tv without trying to find out more info and to find out how the wounded are. We have a daughter that will be going to college in a few years and we are hating to see that happen and it is supposed to be a joyful time in your life when your child is going off to college to make something of themselves and then the dream is stolen from them such a tragedy. Again our prayers go out to you.

All of my prayers and condolences go out to the Virginia Tech nation and anyone hurt by this horrible tragedy. This is a nationwide tragedy and I know here at WVU we our having a Candle Light deal to remember the lost ones. This is truly very upsetting and all of my prayers go out to the Hokie nation.

The relief we felt upon learning that our son, a sophomore at VT, was safe was soon replaced with anguish over the loss of so many innocent students and faculty.  The manner in which the students, faculty and administration has comported themselves in the intervening hours and days is a great source of pride - Hokie pride.  We will be thrilled if our daughter chooses to attend VT next year.  Our deepest sympathy to the families of all of the fallen.

To all the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, and uncles who will shed tears for the lost lives at Virgina Technical College, my thoughts and prayers are with you. You are not alone, there are people out there that care and are praying for you and your families comfort in the midst of this senseless tragedy. May the love of God and the peace that passes all understanding be with you now and in the coming days ahead as you deal with this minute by minute. My heart is so sorry for your loss for I am a mother myself and I grieve with all the other mothers out there that have been thrusted into this unbelievable nightmare. I wish I could put my arms around you and hug you and wipe away your tears but I can’t so I send my love and hugs your way in spirit. The Bible says Blessed are they that mourn:for they shall be comforted. God Bless you all and may your precious children be resting in the arms of God.

To the Virginia Tech Family:

“Take with you words, strong words of courage:
Words that have wings!. . .
Take with you holy words, words that know God;
Words that are sacred as healing waters,
Pure as light, and beautiful as morning,
Take with you tall words, words that reach up,
And growing words, with deep life within them.
Take with you hold words words that know God.”

While you mourn the loss of your loved ones and peers, please know that the rest of the world watches in utter horror that something like this could happen.  The VT students who have been interviewed on television have been articulate, poised, mature, and sensitive.  They speak volumes about the calibre of students at your school.  It has been said that it is not the circumstances that happen to us in our lives, but rather it is how we react to those circumstances that determines our character.  You are in our thoughts. . . .

"A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day” ~ Proverbs 15:13 MSG

Each and every victim remains in my thoughts and prayers.  I am heartbroken and destraught over these events, but we are The Hokies and to echo Mrs. Giovanni - “we will prevail”.  As a VT alum, the response by the community, school and most of all the students has made me proud to call VT my Alma Mater.  I pray for peace and I pray that our God will envelope you in his arms and surround you with His love—today, tomorrow, and always.

I know that this posting isn’t going to make the hurt go away, and it can’t do anything to bring back those whose time on Earth was cut so tragically short.  But please know that we are praying for you each and every day.  May you also be reminded that power of love and unity by millions can always overcome the hatred shown by one.

I’m so sorry to hear about everything your campus seems to being going through its all over the news and in every conversation i cant imagine what its like to lose 32 students at once or at all. Mulvane High schools loss is nothing compared to what you guys are going through but in the year 2006 in September we lost a freshmen that was 14 to lukemia that was extremly hard to deal with but then on Nov. 11th we lost two very school orientaned boys Sam Keys and Kyle adams personal friends of mine it was extremly hard for our school to deal with and a lot of us are still struggling but we united as a school and are getting through it, school with never be the same without those kids and im sure your university wont either but everyone just needs to stick together and over come the sorrow and the pain and stand proud for your school and give one another a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to… my thoughts and prayers are most def. with all of you! Stay Strong

As a parent of a 23 year old college student (who has since graduated) I can only imagine the pain the parents must feel who have lost their child in a senseless, vile and henious act of violence.  Their lives ended much too short and the country lost what might have been some of the most brillant scholars that would have made our country better.  My heart aches for each and every victim and I can only hope that we can look to God and the Heavens for peace and solice.

May God Bless you all and yes, you are VA Tech!

I am a graduate of Va Tech, and was also a Resident Advisor (RA) in West AJ, and later a Head RA during my time at Va Tech (Class of ‘92).  I cry with you...I think of all of you constantly.  As a parent now, I pray for all of those who lost their children and all of those who children are injured both physically and emotionally from this experience....As a HOKIE, I encourage you to honor the memory of your fellow HOKIES who were lost, find the inner courage, and move forward...do not give in to negative energy and blame laying that surrounds you.  Live is filled with loss ... Try to remember the beauty and the blessed experience that is an education from VA Tech - nothing, NO ONE CAN TAKE THIS FROM THOSE OF YOU WHO SURVIVE UNLESS YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE BROKEN BY IT.  Allow yourself to grieve, cry, be angry, and then remember that you are here and you have the opportunity to do more good that some HOKIES now do not.... Make yourself a promise to survive this, honor their memory, and to make those we lost proud of what we do tomorrow and the next day. GO HOKIES!!!!
