One never knows the right thing to say, but I can tell you that when the bombing occurred in Oklahoma City, many of us reached out to others and were thankful and so appreciative of the prayers and thoughtfulness of others.  So, reach out, cry, pray, and share everything you can with others.  We are here for you and our prayers go out to all of you.  God Bless you all.

My heart goes out to Virginia Tech. I have a granddaughter further down the road will be looking at attending college and she lives in Virginia. I’ve enjoyed my visits to Virginia so it is special to me. My son, Mark (USNavy) passed away in Nov. of 2003 so I know that grief and his was a physical ailment, but this would be so much harder to bear. I will be praying for these parents, brothers, sisters, friends who are experiences such painful grief and sadness at such a senseless act. My prayers are with you as well as with Virginia Tech. All those questions that haunt us and the should have, could have, and wished we would haves. Only God can bring out something of value from this terrible act. To all those affected by this horriable tragedy may GOD be with you. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers and those of my family and friends. I know how it can be to loose a loved one or a close friend but nothing can compare to loosing so many of you friends at once. I have faith that the people of VT will remain strong and steadfast keeping God with them. I hope that from this experience we can bring some type of good and come closer together as a family friend and a nation. It sadnens me to think that some one person could do such a horriable thing. I just hope you can all hold your heads up and remember the good in those lost.  Those who were lost will never be forgotten(a memorial on campus would be great for everyone). always remeber one little saying in life— May God grant you the Serenity to accept the things you cannot change, courage to change the things you can & the wisdom to know the different. May God give you courage to heal. GOD BLESS YOU ALL YOU ARE IN ALL ARE PRAYERS.

Remembering VA Tech
©4/17/07 by Andrea L. Hines

Father, we ask a special prayer of comfort for those affected by the acts of violence on yesterday.  There are many tragedies people face, and any loss is felt deeply by those left behind.  Move through us today that we might somehow be a part of the healing process as you continue to work things together for good.  Let someone discover You even in the midst of their tears and allow Your love to give them the kind of peace they have never known… in Jesus name we pray… Amen

Let’s all do our part and continue to cover these families in our prayer. It’s time to silence the enemy!! “May God be with you all”.

As a mother, my heart is aching for all of you that are now in heaven and for your families.  I wish I could switch places with you and take your and your family’s pain.  You are all in my heart from now until my time is over.  I will never forget you all or your families.  This is hitting me harder than 9/11.  I guess it’s because I am only 35 minutes away and I couldn’t do anything to help any of you.  I wish you all could’ve kept your wonderful lives going and blessed this world a little longer. You will never be forgotten by me.  I will probably shed tears every day for quite some time for you all.  That is how I deal with this.  Please keep blowing your wings upon Virginia Tech.

Our prayers are with the Virginia Tech families, faculty and administration.

Our son, Andrew, will be attending Virginia Tech (engineering) in the fall.  While the tragic events of April 16th unfolded, not once did he nor the rest of our family discuss withdrawing from VT.

Since Monday, Andrew has worn his VT sweatshirt and cap in tribute to his “Hokies”.  This is even before he has taken his first step into the classroom.

Our family has witnessed the courage and demeanor of the students, faculty and administration on every type of media available and this has reinforced our beliefs that Andrew will “definitely’ attend Virginia Tech in the fall.

Again, our prayers are with the Virginia Tech families, faculty and administration.  It is you who have shown the true “Hokie” spirit.

In Time of Sorrow…
May you see God’s light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

My heart aches for you and all the families who have lost someone in this senseless act.  Please remember that you are not alone and there are many people caring about you.

Everyone in any university around the world feels so sad when we see people so like ourselves and people we’ve learned from and taught. This is not just a tragedy for America, it affects everyone around the globe, especially those of us in academia, who take our freedoms on campus for granted. I extend my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to everyone on campus, and the families of the fallen.

I am an Alum of the Wolfpack of NCSU, Class of 92’.  To my ACC Brothers and Sisters at Virginia Tech, you are in my thoughts and prayers and have my deepest sympathy.

In spite of the fact that we play each other in athletics, we are a part of the same family.  The ACC Family.

I went to the VT message board at ESPN.com, and can honestly say that you have the love and support of every University in this country.  I also read an article at CNN Sports, where the Washington Nationals wore VT hats when they played the Braves last night. I have a VT shirt that I have been wearing everyday since this happened as a show of my love and support for you too.

God Bless all of you and keep the faith.

Dear virginia tech students,

I am on the other side of the country, in california, but due to this story I am mourning with you. I know its hard right now, but it gets easier as you go along. I too have lost a loved one to violence, carelessness, and intolerance. But don’t let it keep you down. Think about the lives that were lost, and remember that those people would never want to see you fail because of their deaths. It was a horrible thing that was done, and many people have been hurt. Physically and mentally. But You have to keep going in life. Life is like a road, and sometimes it gets bumpy, but you can’t lose your way. And that doesn’t mean you can’t cry, or grieve, because that is healthy and natural. But don’t stay depresssed. Keep doing your job, get good grades, graduate on time, an make all of us proud.

Out of the night that covers me Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstanceI have not winced nor cried aloud Under the bludgeonings of chanceMy head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tearsLooms but the Horror of the shade,And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate,I am the captain of my soul.

I would like to take this time to express my most sincerest and deepest condolences to the students, faculty, staff, and the entire Virginia Tech community during this horrific time as all of us collectively together mourn the loss of our friends, family, and relatives.

It’s a shame and a pity when he felt that he (the gunman) could only solve his problems through the use of guns and violence. My heart aches and goes out to all of you; I only hope that you will find comfort in my message; and rest assured that Jesus Christ, will see all of us through this stormy time in our lives as well as the violence that is in our midst.

My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you always.  I only wish that I could give all of you a BIG hug and somehow turn the clock back 24 hours, apprehend the perpetrator, put him behind bars, and prevent this tragedy from ever happening.

Take Care and May God Bless All of You.  :)
