Hokies, i really feel overwhelmed by this tragedy, sincerely hope that you find comfort, and that you become stronger, as individuals, but over all, as community, to get over this together, even if today that seems impossible. i know in my heart, if there’s a god, he is taking care of your classmates, and them, of all you hokies.

You will move past hating him, and more so feel sorry for him, and understand that he is a bad man, and that he needed help.  God will let him see that he may have hurt you, but he did not hinder the very foundation that you walk on.  God will never allow this man to feel happiness again.  Know that you are loved, and to those that were lost, know that your missed and will never be forgotten.

May God bless all of you in your darkest hour. May God be with those that fought to save people that they may not have even known.  May he give you stregnth and set your heart free from the tragedy that has taken place.  Most of all I just want to send all of you a big hug and my deepest sympathy!!! I want you to know that you have the stregnth to hold your head high and get through all of this.

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ whom stregnthens me.  This is a verse that I think is appropriate to share, it gives me hope that there is always someone with me, as there is always someone with you.

As I sit in my office on the other side of the world, my life continues as normal short of welling tears in my eyes as I read more heart-breaking reports of your tragedy. How is that fair? Your lives will never be the same. No-one deserves this. What else needs to happen before we acknowledge what we have done to our global commnunity in so many senses?
Your loved ones will be remembered forever. Their energy, soul and spirit live on for eternity. Find support and love within each other. We all cry for your loss and yearn for your healing. Amanda Cook

When I think about a human life, I think of it from birth to adulthood. All the memories, the good times, and bad times of a persons life might as well have been for not if they only knew that one person could destroy all of that. I send my condolences to the families of those at Virginia Tech and as for the students I know this is hard but your gonna make it, take it a day at a time.

Sincerely,

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.  This is a terrible tragedy that has struck your campus but I can tell from the photos and news reports that you are a strong people and campus.  I teach at a preschool and today as the young children mentioned what they had heard and seen on television concerning your campus I was touched by their thoughts turning to praying for you all.  We did just that as a class.  Of course, the children do not understand, but they prayed that you would all continue to be safe and not afraid.  That is my prayer for you also.  God bless you all as you stand together and gain strength from the community that is Virginia Tech!!

The victims should live on in the hearts and minds of the people they affected while on the planet.

Do not forget what these innocent people must have experienced. The best way to change the world is to picture their suffering and pain.  Allow those terrible thoughts to drive the actions you take to make sure that this never happens again.

The gun problem in this country makes us a laughing stock in the international community.  Where’s that NRA?  Oh yeah, “guns don’t kill people, people do”.....suuuure.

Why does this god fella always show up late?

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity.
~Henry Van Dyke~

One day can change everything. I hope this day changes alot of things. Better gun protection is needed in this country. Such a senseless act has taken lives. Only time will heal your pain and even that will not seem to be enough, but my prayers are with you all who are affected by such a horrible tragedy.

There are no words one individual can share to express what is being felt in the hearts of every former or current student. Only in time will the wounds that have been opened by this sick monster ever begin to heal. The whole country feels your pain. Be strong and we pray for all of the families of the fallen, and the families of the survivors. Do not let this person stop you from gaining what is most important, knowledge.

I am utterly shocked over this tragedy. The impact of this horrific event is unheard of as the effects spread not only nationally, but internationally. I once drove through Virginia Tech and worked nearby in the state of Virginia once. So this event disturbs me more closely having worked in the region before. It is a sad and dark time in the history of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va., the state of Virginia, and The United States of America. This cruel and unnecessary act of violence strikes at the heart of trillions of people across the world. I am in disbelief. I pray that those currently in mourning will receive the right support and that those injured and in the hospital will get the necessary care to make a full recovery.

Today JMU was swarming with students in orange and maroon or wearing sweatshirts with Virginia Tech written across the chest. Our campus was silent at 2pm as you began your convocation and lights brightened up the Festival lawn as the Madison Singers sang at a Vigil attended by many students at 9pm in honor of our friends - the Hokies.

Just wanted you to know the Dukes whole heartedly support the Hokies.  You’re in our thoughts and prayers and all over our campus.

“Anyone can give up; its the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, thats true strength.” Stay strong Hokies.

The concern and hopes of millions are with Virginia Tech.  I am so impressed with the nobility and kindness of the students, faculty and administration.  As a grandmother, I can just barely allow myself to imagine how I would feel if one of my precious ones had been lost or wounded, physically or emotionally, in this sad event.

I was so glad to see the maturity of the student body when they showed their appreciation for Dr. Steger; he deserves it.  And I fervently hope that no more time will be wasted in blaming those who truly did the very best they knew to do with the information they had. They did not have the gift of hindsight nor clairvoyance.  Clearly they cared very much, and their hearts are aching for the lost and hurting, too.  Only one person is to blame, and he paid with his own death.

At the same time, however, I hope there will be those who will have the Divine grace to offer genuine acceptance and kind support to his family who may be suffering more than any other.  I hope some will help them through this, for they lost a son whom they loved, and they must also bear the undeserved shame of his deeds.

With a heavy heart, I extend to the Virginia Tech family my deepest prayers and loving, supportive thoughts. I am an adjunct professor at Temple University in Philadelphia and cannot imagine the horror you all went through that day. I want you to know that I have been and will continue to pray for ALL of you, your families and communities. Feel your pain. Talk out your concerns. Support each other. Realize the stress of the situation will not end overnight. But, at the same time, know you have a bright future ahead. Remember, God loves you and so do so many other people.
