The events of April 16th leave me deeply saddened and hurting for the parents, families and friends of the victums. So much, so many, taken, so suddenly. My heart aches for your loss. I cannot begin to understand what makes a person do something so horrible. I know nothing can change what has happened but maybe knowing someone cares will bring some comfort for the moment. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless.  Love to all, Diana B.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever.

Amen.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy for the victims, the families and friends of all, and especially to the students. Being a student at Western Kentucky University, I cannot imagine the pain, tragedy, and fear that they’re feeling. From one campus to another, our prayers are focused on the entire campus. I know the healing process will take a lot of time, and I would like to offer my prayers in this time of need. Today, we are all Hokies.

With deepest love and sympathy,

I cannot begin to imagine the pain familes are going thru. I am praying for you and hope you recover from this event quickly! This could of happened to any campus in the country. I am currently attending college in Nashville, TN. People like Cho will get what they deserve.....

April 18, 2007, 12:22am • Nashville, TN • #3187

As a parent of a college age daughter, words cannot begin to express the outrage and sadness I feel. Only time will begin to heal the loss of what happened at Virginia Tech yesterday.

But life will go on, and those that will stand at graduation this year will all be testimonies to that. Each and every one of them will be a hero to the rest of us that day.

As incidental as it might sound, I propose that each and everyone of us, throughout our country, on VA Tech’s graduation day, display Maroon and Orange ribbons/banners. I know it’s not much but it’s the only thing I can think of doing to show my support to all the students and faculty.

Someone with a gun stole many young adults’ innocence yesterday. I’d just like them to know, there are more of us than there are of them. The world is still a good place, one person’s actions will never change that.

You are all in my prayers…

My thoughts and prayers are with you right now.  Why many of us question how this happened, why this happend, and what we can do to prevent it in the future - the present time should be used to heal, to mourn, to cry, to scream, to come together as a university, as a generation, as a nation - to respect live, love life and live life.  Accordingly, we must pray for not only the families of the innocent victims who’s lives were taken in such a tragic and unexplainable manner, but we must be with the wounded, and with the family of Cho - because they are not to blame, and we must come together to not punish them for the acts of their child, but to mourn with them for we don’t know, and will never understand what they are enduring at this tragic time in their lives.  May God keep you and bless you all.  You are in my prayers.

I find it hard to express my sorrow and even harder to express my sympathy to those effected by yesterday’s events.

The t.v. show, “West Wing”, has always been one of my favorite shows to watch on television and tonight I remembered a speach that was made following a bombing at a high school swim meet given by “President Jed Bartlet” (Martin Sheen).  I found the text and couldn’t have choosen these words myself, but they express what I am feeling.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family members of the one’s lost yesterday and with those left behind who strugle with the pain and sorrow of this loss.

“The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight. They’re our students and our teachers and our parents and our friends. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight.
But every time we’ve measured our capacity to meet a challenge we look up and we’re reminded that that capacity may well be limitless. This is a time for American heroes. We will do what is hard. We will achieve what is great. This is a time for American heroes and we reach for the stars.”

For the victim’s families and friends:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Thirty two years ago I spent my freshman year at Virginia Tech. Being young, I took for granted being able to come of age in such a special place.  Listening to the voices of courage and hope coming equally from students and faculty serve to remind me how lucky I was to have been part of such a special community.

My prayers for peace and comfort are being said for all of you.
