I am the mother of a VT alum, a daughter who graduated in 2000.  I remember the joy we felt when she received her acceptance letter, and the pride and comfort we felt with her place in the VT community.

Today I think of today’s parents.  If your child has been lost, it is an unimaginable pain, and I pray for you and the soul of the child you love so much.  The parents of the surviving, whether your child was wounded or not, will never forget this week.  I think of you, and pray for you as well.

May your God help you and you families.  I send my love.

Dear Mom

As one mother to another mother, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. As soon as I heard of the news, my first call was to my daughter, whose first words were:  “I am safe mom”. With relief my next thoughts were for you. I don’t even know your name but I know you did not hear the words that you were looking and hoping to hear.  I am so very sorry

As Virginia Tech alumni, I am so sorry for this loss and filled with shock.  As a retired Virginia Tech faculty, I am filled with grief. As a Virginia Tech mother, I reach out to you to say we share in your loss, As one of the Virginia Tech family I send prayers to you across the miles.  May you find some small comfort that we are with you in thoughts and prayers.

In God Blessing, A Tech Mom

To my fellow Hokies...I am an alumni from 1993 and my heart feels such sorrow for the loss of such innocent and promising lives. My thoughts and prayers go out to those of you currently attending Tech and living through this nightmare. I am so sorry for those who lost friends and family. I am so sorry for the sorrowful memories that will fill your college years at Tech. As a Mother of two boys I can’t imagine what the parents of these loved ones are going through. I have hope that Va. Tech will heal and move on. Let’s not forgot the loved ones of those lost because their healing will certainly take a lot longer. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will think of you often. May God bless you and hold you tight through your sorrow.  We are Hokies!

What can you say..
I have shead so many tears watching all this on CNN and Fox News. It’s so heartbreaking to watch all of you beautiful students in so much pain and sorrow. It shouldn’t have happened, but it did.
Don’t let this individual person ruin you lives anymore than he already has.
Stand strong, hold your head’s high and study and do what you came to that campus to do. Accept help when needed. Don’t loose your youthful spirit.
Remember those that have passed with a smile on your face, not sorrow. They would want that.
I’m not a religious person, but ‘God Bless you all’.
May your future be bright and meaningful. Use this to change the world for the better.
My thoughts are with you all at this time.
