I Too Cry when innocent children are hurt and killed.
I Too Cry when innocent people are convicted of crimes they have not committed.
I Too Cry when mothers and fathers grief of lost of their love ones.
My tears that roll down my face have no color or ethnicity; to me they are tears of sorry and love for all mankind.
I Too Cry, because hate has no place in America.
Go Hokies I Cry For You.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims, the victims families, and also with Cho’s family.  This is a very hard time for everyone, especially those of you at Virginia Tech.  However, this is not a time to harbor hate in your heart.  What happened was indeed a tragedy with lack of a better word...And I know that everyone, including myself, is filled with hurt, anger, and sadness, but in order to make this a better world, we need to get rid of the hate and help those in need.  I hope that all of you are okay, and I know that Virginia Tech will rise above this.  I am praying for everyone.
R.I.P. Daniel Perez and the rest of the victims.

I would like to give my heartfelt condolence to everyone at this fine school.

While a totally different situation than the one I found myself at my office in WTC 2 on September 11th 2001, I can relate. No one can understand except those that are directly effected. The loss of classmates, friends, mentors, teachers and heroes has to be mind boggling.

Knowing those directly at the epicenter have seen things no one should have to see, please know the thoughts and prays are with you all from every direction.

I can say five years out, life does get better. It will not change what you saw, what you lost or how the event will probably forever change you. It will become something that you don’t think about “every day”. It will always be with you but you wont always be with it…

After watching the coverage, I cannot say how proud I know those close to you all are and those of us that do not even really know you are.

Virginia Tech certainly has distinguished itself as not only a fine institute of higher learning but an institute that produces fine young people who will be a factor in ensuring this country we be the best of the best.

God Bless you all….

If only we could wake up from this horrific nightmare, how can this be reality?
No words can ease the pain felt by the families and friends directly affected by this tragedy, I can only send you all my love and any positive energy I can find, in hopes that will somehow in some small way help with (what your loved ones would wish for you) the healing process and your search for strength right now.

After having lived in Charlottesville for several years, I consider Virginia my second home.  Please allow me to express my most sincere condolences to the VT Community and all those touched by this horrific event.  As a University of Alabama alumnus, I recall past occasions when our two great Universities have been rivals on the field of play.  Tonight, however, we here in Tuscaloosa, Alabama open our hearts to the families and friends of those lost in this senseless tragedy.  We are so very impressed with the articulate VT students who have represented their University in the national media with such intelligence and dignity. We offer up our prayers in support of the family of VT faculty, alumni and students who will pick up and carry on the tradition of your great institution.

My deepest sympathy is with you as are my prayers for this senseless tragedy. You now belong to an exclusive club which no one wants to have a membership with. When I say I know how you are feeling, I do. I am a victim of the Red Lake High School shooting that happened 3/21/05. The only advice I can give you is to talk about it and in most causes you will need to talk with someone who deals with Post Traumatic Stress. I had several weeks of this after this horrific event. The counselor not only saved my life but also my mind.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to all of those affected by this tragic event. May God be with you and comfort you during these hard times.

Fellow Tech Students,

As a student at Georgia Tech I don’t believe our feelings toward you can be expressed more accurately then in the words of Russell Denney. “For today, We are all Hokies now”.

We are grieving with you as students striving to make a difference in how our world is engineered. I can’t imagine the emotions each of you will be feeling as you walk into your lectures in the coming weeks, and are reminded by the empty seats of those who are no longer with us. Those who so courageously sacrificed their lives yesterday. Tears fill my eyes and will continue to fill my heart as I pray for you and am reminded myself everytime I see an empty chair.

This has been a tragic reminder that life is truly fragile. No one can know what a day might bring and therefore me must live every moment as though it were our last.

May you find the peace and comfort you need during this time of shock and sorrow. Cling to each other, remembering the good times and holding to them. My prayers are with you.

Hokies…

Our family would like to send our prayers out to each and everyone of you.  We are great fans and supporters of the Hokie community.  We are truly hurt and in disbelief of what took place Monday morning.
Living just up the road off I81 we witnessed many rescue workers from all over rushing to the rescue of this great campus.  Thanks for all you have done in protecting all that you had power to protect.
We will miss all of those entelligent minds that would have and did bring so much to our commnity.
We pray for all in this healing process.

May God Bless All,
Gary, Christina and Future Hokie Children

When I heard the news here I was deeply shocked and saddened for everyone involved in this dreadful incident, for everyone in America. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, always. Every inch of my being is a Hokie.  All the way down to my 15 month old son who’s entire room is decorated in VT colors.  He just yesterday learned how to say the word Hokie.  I will never forget this day as long as I live.

32 members of our family left us yesterday but they will never be forgotten.  Friday is national orange and marron effect day.  Show your support for those families.

We are the Hokies.  We are Virginia Tech.

I just wanted to share my thoughts with everyone in the Virginia Techn community and the state of Virginia as a whole.

It saddens me to think that things like this can still happen, and to happen at a University where students think that they are going to be safe.

Well, now they are safe from everything, because they are with God.

God bless the state of Virginia and keep them close to your heart for the next few weeks.

This is a poem I had written:

he didnt say a word
as he looked in their eyes
one by one
33 are now gone
the aftermath is gonna be hard
try to be strong
for the ones who fall weak
where do we go from here
what happens next week?
there is a war going on
people against hatred
me im going thin
im losing my patience
guns and violence
havent we learned yet?
in schools i ask why
when we are suppose to be safe
how do we look into a killers eyes
and plead for our lives
and still he continues to pull the trigger
these bullets have no color
just a man with a heart
a mind
and a soul that couldnt take it in this
world any longer
he planned his way out
but the others didnt even see this coming
their last moments were spent
in horror and shock
now in peace is where they rest

My heart ached to know about this tragic news. My deep condolences, thoughts, and prayers go to all those that lost friends or family members. I personally did not know anyone at this University but as a college student I can only imagine what it feels to have what is suppose to be the best time of your life and a safe place to receive an education be turned upside down. I wish recovery for the injured and give my deepest thoughts and prayers for those others that are dealing with the tragedy. I am not religious but believing in a higher power can bring peace and comfort to ones soul. The victims did not deserve to be taken the way they were but, I can only say that they may be in a better place. If anything positive comes out of this tragedy it should be for schools to open their eyes and offer more security, emergency plans and more staff dedicated for the well being of students, staff and faculty. Look forward and don’t fill your heart with hate, cherish the good memories and Keep Strong.

O LORD, I KNOW NOT WHAT TO ASK OF THEE. THOU ALONE KNOWEST WHAT ARE MY TRUE NEEDS. THOU LOVEST ME MORE THAN I MYSELF KNOW OF TO LOVE. HELP ME TO SEE MY REAL NEEDS WHICH ARE CONCEALED FROM ME. I DARE NOT ASK EITHER A CROSS OR CONSOLATION. I CAN ONLY WAIT ON THEE. MY HEART IS OPEN TO THEE. VISIT AND HELP ME, FOR THY GREAT MERCY’S SAKE. STRIKE ME AND HEAL ME, CAST ME DOWN AND RAISE ME UP.
