Condolences, April 17, 2007

My heart goes out to all those affected by the tragic events of April 16th.  Someone’s child, father, friend taken from us all too soon.  May we all learn from the strength the VT students and staff are exhibiting in this time of sorrow.  I pray that you can all be allowed to grieve as you need to, for as long as you need to.  I can’t even begin to comprehend what you must be going through.  But watching the young people of VT, who will be the next leaders, is awe inspiring.

May you find peace in your hearts.  You are not alone in your sorrow, for I, as well as the nation, are mourning with you.  Your pain is our pain.

Wherever you step, God steps with you.

In our hearts and in our minds.

God bless You VT!

Words just cannot adequately express how very sorryI am for the Virginia Tech family at this horrible tragedy they are facing. You are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers. I have cried as I listened to the stories on TV and I did not know anyone there. So I can only imagine the grief and pain that you are feeling. Lean on each other and your families during this time and you will come out much stronger in the end. Many blessings to all of you.

I echo the sentiments of many in saying that I could not have been more proud to be a Hokie than when I was while watching the convocation today.  To all the students their from all of the alumni around the world I want you to know you did us proud.  In the face of unimagineable tragedy and endless media scrutiny you stood tall.  You rallied behind your President, rallied around each other, and managed to bring a tear and a smile to the faces of Hokies everywhere.  You didn’t tell the world what a Hokie was...you showed them; and in a way that cannot and will not ever be forgotten.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts are with all of you that have lost someone during this tragedy. I believe the entire country feels the same way. My heart hurts for every single innocent life lost yesterday.

During the horrific events that have happened at Virginia Tech - we are all Hokies.

I just want to say that my heart goes out to each and every Virginia Tech student and faculty member.  I am a student @ Appalachian State University and share the sympathy with the rest of our nation.  I know this will be a difficult obstacle to overcome, but as a Virginia Tech fan, I know Hokies always conquer with their heads held high.  May the Lord be with all of those involved in this tragedy.

Our hearts go out to each and everyone in the VT community.  The events that took place on 4.16.07 are tragic, in that individuals lost children, siblings, spouses, friends, and classmates.  You are a strong community and will get through this horrific event...although it may take time to heal, you have the support of a great nation! It is utterly heart wrenching to watch the coverage, yet I find it soothing to see the way the Hokie community has come together.  Our deepest sympathies to the families of the lost ones.  God bless everyone whome this tragedy touches.

As a fellow Virginian, I pray that in time, God will help remove the horrible images from our minds, as well as the damage to our souls. But please, God, leave the memory of this tragedy in our hearts, so that we can be a source of strength to others who have lost loved ones and so that we may pray frequently for those who have lost much more than most of us will ever know. Also, God , let none of us forget what has happened........Rick Whitmore

I wish to send my condolences, thoughts and prayers to the young people, the families and the administration.  I share your pain because I have walked in your path, having lost my brilliant 19 year old neice to gun violence.  I pray that you all embrace each other for support.  I also pray that the administration works diligently to give you the support that you will need in the coming days.

My condolences go out to everyone who was effected by yesterday’s tragety.. it was felt around the world, and no one deserves such an untimely death..
Murder is not justifiable.. As Alber Einstein once said “To my mind, to kill in war is not a whit better than to commit ordinary murder”. I hope every one effected by this tragety finds restitution, and some day can be happy again in life.. i hope everyone can learn from this, and learn to love your neighbor.  Maybe one day there will be peace.. again my condolences go to the ones effected.  My prayers are always with you..

All Virginia Tech students are in my and my city’s prayers. I say ‘Do not move on from this tragedy, but do not dwell in the horror that was so.’ Remember only the greatness of all those who had to suffer at the hands of one deluded, maniacal, hell-sent killer. Remember the love and lives of all those who have past on.
