To the Virginia Tech community,

I want you to know that all over the nation...all over the world...you are in our thoughts, our tears, our hearts and our minds.

Words cannot express how sorrowful I feel.  Know that there are people all over the country praying that God comforts you during this time...To the Parents, Family Members, Loved Ones, Students, Faculty and Staff - you have someone in Atlanta that is praying for you.

To the Virginia Tech community,
I was deeply saddend to learn of the horrific mass shootings that occurred on the usually serene setting of a diverse, well-known university campus. As others have written, words cannot convey how the nation and the world feel and will not come close to ‘repairing’ the broken hearts and lost assumptions of safety in at least some parts of our nation.

Please know that no American is ever alone, no horrific event is forgotten, and the Virginia Tech community will be on the forefront of our minds and hearts for some time to come.

There is no finer pursuit than that of higher education and the provision of higher education by professors and support staff.

I dont understand why someone could do such a thing. Parents send there kids to college to make a life, not to take it away....My family & I in Salisbury, NC and Yigo, Guam are keeping all the lossed students in our thoughts.....
“We’ll carry on,
We’ll carry on
And though you’re dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We’ll carry on

Dear all at Virginia Tech,

Although I live far from you, my heart is with you. I know you are praying, and I am praying for you too.

The killer used to be a small baby too. It is his education --- from family, society, peers, schools --- that has made him such a devil. As a mother of a small child, I am hoping all mothers would be sensitive to their children’s bitterness, and clean it before its budding. When we see other kids showing bitterness, we must take it as OUR reponsibility to remove this from them, too.

Parents, teachers, students --- let’s work together to remove negative tendencies in the ones you know. This will not only save them, but also us.

love,

please help us put up sirens on campus the same they use to warn cites of tornados or huricanes. this simple system not one of most advanced computer technology could have saved lifes. it they were equiped with sirens when the sirens went off everyone would have known to take cover. emails after everyone died did nothing and va tech talking about sending out text messages will do nothing either. we can prevent this at all college campus with siren systems that have worked for many years around the world to warn to take cover.

I gaze outside my window
And wish upon a star.
I open up my heart
And let my thoughts drift afar.
A tear rolls down my cheek
As I reminisce the past.
You hardly got to live.
Your life went by so fast.

And all because someone else
Made a dumb mistake.
I don’t understand why it was
Your life he had to take.

But now there’s no way I can bring you back
No matter how hard I try.
Because now you’re up in heaven
As my angel standing by.  By Karen-Ashley Murray

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Virginia Tech community as well as the friends and families of the innocent who lost their lives. I am a mother of two baby boys, I have no connection with Virginia Tech, but as a mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, I can’t begin to understand the tremendous pain you are all feeling for your loved ones, your friends, wives, husbands, colleagues, classmates, sisters, brothers. Through tears, I would like to say that our hearts are breaking, and from our home in Southern California, we, too, grieve with you, and we pray for God to lift you all up, shed his grace on you, and keep you close during this extremely difficult time.

I grew up in Fairfax, VA and many of my friends from Fairfax High ‘86 went to VaTech.  While I no longer live in VA, I feel like this has happened in my own backyard.  The prayers of my family and I are with the families of those murdered and with the entire VA Tech community.  Last night, in our nighttime family prayer, my 12 year old daughter asked God to comfort the families of those killed.  Her prayer got a sincere Amen from our entire family.  May God continue to comfort you all...The Page Family

Although I am a member of a college community who recently experienced an unexpected & tragic loss, the grief Virginia Tech seems immeasurable and uncomparable.  This grief will undoubtedably live in all of our hearts forever.  Out of this horrid tragedy, an unbreakable bond will form, strengthening your community beyond any expectations.  I feel confident when I say my campus community, in mourning over our recent loss, prays for the Virginia Tech Community in its entirety.

In times of tragedy we are all reminded that we never know when our creator will call us back home.  The spirits of all of those who perished will look down upon their university, state, and nation and see the love and support that brought not only Virginia Tech closer but a nation closer.  We will miss those who have fallen and never forget them.  It pains my heart that the families of the victims must suffer from such a unbelieveable act.  Always remember God has a plan it may not be what we want, but he has a purpose for all of us.  May GOD BLESS Virginia Tech and May GOD BLESS AMERICA.  I have been an Alabama fan my entire life, but I am now glad to say that I am also a Hokie.  Roll Hokies Roll!!
