I was listening to this song today and could not help but think of th 32 students and faculty who tragically lost their lives yesterday.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by this sad event.

MAY ANGELS LEAD THEM IN

With love,
Valerie

May Angels Lead You In
Jimmy Eat World

There’s no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I’ll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I’ll never have a chance.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
And if you were with me tonight,
I’d sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so big,
god wouldn’t let it live.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.

Hello to all VA TECH students!
Iam sadden very much by the recent shootings at your campus. I’m keeping you all in my thoughts.
We do not know why some people do the things they do in life good or bad, (refering to the recent shootings).
I truly believe, though not being a religous person, that this terrible situation can be used for the good.
Today, the day after the shootings, I was thinking of how it has brought the students at your fine campus together. We never know how much we all really need one another until such a tragedy strikes us in our lives.
I hope maybe at leaast one student or more reads this and is comforted.
Thanks so much for letting me take the time to express my feelings on your tragic lose/s.
Keep on keeping on. Americans like myself are behind you all 100%!
Do not know anyone at your campus though I feel since this horrific tragedy that I do.
All the best to you students one and all. Hope you can soon get back to some sence of normalacy.
sincerly yours, Mr. White

From Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ I send my thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy to the entire VT Community and especially to those who have lost loved ones.  Stay strong and as a nation, we will learn from senseless mistakes, reunite, and come back stronger than ever.

The killings in Iraq, and now this.  What is this world coming too??  We need peace in this world!!! I can’t wait for Christ to come back and judge the wicked and take his people home with him.  Repent and give yourself to Jesus.  He’s the only one that will save you.  I hope those people that died in this terrible tragedy had given themselves to Jesus. You never know when your going to leave this world!

God Bless Everyone,

Jess

To the Virginia Tech community-
My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected by this unimaginable tragedy. I feel a deep connection to your university, because my cousin Matt is a senior Mechanical Engineering major there. Fortunately Matt was not on campus during the shootings, and I thank God that he is safe. I have just returned from a candlelight vigil at my school, Grand Valley State University, in Allendale, MI. Hundreds of students gathered at the school’s clock tower for 33 minutes and lit 33 candles, in addition to those we were holding, in memory of the 33 victims. The GVSU community sends its prayers and love to all those who are part of the Virginia Tech community. We will always remember those who were killed or wounded during this horrific tragedy.

To my dear, dear students, and this prayer I make… knowing that nature never did betray the heart that loved you, ‘tis your privelage, through all the years of this our life to lead from joy to joy.  For you can so inform the mind that is within us, so impress with quietness and beauty, and so feed with lofty thoughts, that neither evil tongues, rash judgements, nor the sneers of selfish men, nor greetings where no kindness is shall e’er prevail against us or disturb our cheerful faith that all which we behold is full of blessings.  Therefore, let the moon shine on thee in thy solitary walks and let the misty mountain winds be free to blow against thee.  If I should be where I no more can hear thy voice, nor catch from thy wild eyes these gleams of past existence- wilt thou then forget that on the banks of this delightful stream we stood together.

-may the words of Wordsworth comfort you all.

Growth, they say,
comes from pain.
Pain, I say,
is stuck within.
Perhaps, one day,
this sick feeling
pitted in my stomach
and burning in my chest,
will grow
into a
fresh breath of hope,
but for now…

Hokies and families, I share in your grief this day. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, and I will continue to think of you as you go through this time. I’m actually going through my first year of grief, so I can relate very well. My 17-year-old brother, Matthew, passed in July 2006 from his battle with Juvenile Diabetes. It all happened so suddenly, that like most of you, I never had the opportunity to tell him goodbye or how much I loved him. It’s very difficult to lose anyone, that’s certain. My brother is in a MUCH better place where he will no longer suffer, and I thank God for leading Him there and providing me a way to see him in Heaven again one day. It’s like someone told me, he graduated to the place that we are all trying to get too. Most of all, I guess I just want to say to the one’s who have lost a brother or sister that if you need to talk to someone at any time, who is going through the loss of a sibling...drop me a line anytime; one American to another. Take care & God Bless all of you, Stephen - pairofdivers@hotmail.com

It is with much regret that I write these condolences, so much potential and opportunity that will never be fulfilled because of this senseless act.  I only attended VT for 1 year but have always looked on my time there as being very special and meaningful.  The VT Corps of Cadets is just one proud organization I was able to be a part of.  I will keep this campus in my thoughts and prayers and honor their memory by showing my Hokie Pride.
