my prayers and thoughts are with all of you at VA tech as i know this is a time of fear and mourning for many. I do pray for all families effected by this including the young man who caused the damage, it is a hard time for all the families involved and my prayer is that during this we will all grow closer and rely on God for our strength.

2 corinthians 12: 8-10 “ Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

prayer and hope for all is with you

I am praying for all of you at Tech right now and for all who lost a loved one. I had four wonderful years there and I can’t imagine how devasting this one act is going to have on your experience at Tech and for a long time to come.

A single small town tragedy, touches everyone this day
whether your on campass, or thousands of miles away
grief may overwhelm you, your tears are needed to heal
it will take time, maybe years, to express how you feel

A nation stands behind you, a world stands with them
through times of sorrow and strife, Jesus is your friend
send all your prayers to the lord, and now he will provide
for everyone lost that day, he had more in mind

You may be a small town, a small school, in this place
but you have seen more then most people will ever face
In times of adversity, the strong will survive
take your time to grieve, and then in time, go forward in life

To the family and friends of victims of the tragedy,
You are in all of our thoughts and prayers.  This event has deeply effected everyone across the nation and I hope that if anything is good is to come out of this is it will make people realize that just because we are in a small quiet town does not make us immune from this senseless violence.  The people in charge--police, school administrators--need to seriously amend their safety and prevention policies so no other school will have to experience such a travesty.

I cannot begin to imagine what you all must be experiencing right now.  Just know, millions of people are thinking and praying for you at this moment.

Sincerely,

Allison Zolad

Dear Virginia Tech,
I am writing as a former student of Blacksburg and first and foremost would like to extend my condolences to all those affected by this past Monday.  Though I am two years removed from the university, my emotions still forced me today to take off the second half of work due to the prior events.  I stand with you now, as I did in the past, whether I am in Blacksburg or not.  Grieve, pay respects, but hold your head up, you are not just college students, you are students of Virginia Tech.  That alone is a weight to bare.

April 17, 2007, 10:48pm • Kansas City, KS • #1413

To the VT and Blacksburg community my heart breaks for the grief that you are experiencing in the midst of this tragedy.  Please know that others are grieving with and praying for you.
Today, as I described to a co-worker what a wonderful place Tech was, he looked at me and said it will never be the same place that I remember.  In my heart I don’t believe that.  I know WE will NEVER forget the events of April 16th but VT is still the awesome place that it has always been.  Let’s Go HOKIES!
Peace and Love,

To the VT Hokie Family

One can only wonder why things like this happen, we of course will never know that answer. The only thing that matters now is that you as a University stay together and strong for each other.  Many outside influences will come along and try to place blame on what we could have done to prevent this tragedy, don’t let this happen. You remain as one during the good times and bad.  Hokie pride must come through now like never before.  My heart goes out to all of you for your loss, and may God see you all through these trying times.  The Marine Corps motto in latin is Semper Fi...."Always Faithful”
